About

「 Computer science is not merely a discipline—it's the room where all the other disciplines meet.

Who We Are

The Computer Science Honor Society recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in computer science while fostering a community of collaborative learning and service.

Founded in 2023, ja.CSHS provides a space for students to pursue projects beyond the classroom, develop technical skills through hands-on experience, and contribute to our school and broader community.

Our members come from diverse academic backgrounds, united by curiosity and a desire to build things that matter.

Membership

Academic Standing

Maintain a minimum 3.0 average in CS-related coursework and demonstrate genuine interest in developing your technical skills.

Service Hours

Earn volunteer hours through chapter activities—tutoring, STEM outreach, community tech support, and event participation. We provide the opportunities.

Active Participation

Attend regular meetings and contribute to at least one chapter project or competition per year.

Character

Integrity, collaboration, willingness to help others learn. Technical skill alone is not sufficient.

Our Approach

Three principles guide everything we do.

1

Learning through application

Theory matters, but understanding deepens through practice. We emphasize project-based learning where members apply concepts to real problems.

2

Peer instruction

Teaching is the highest form of learning. Members share knowledge through workshops, code reviews, and mentorship.

3

Interdisciplinary thinking

CS intersects with every field. We encourage members to bring perspectives from their other interests and explore those connections.
